President Obama won a whopping 75% of the Hispanic vote in 2012. Since then TEApublicans firmly resolved to reach out to minorities, especially Hispanic voters, because even they know they can’t win elections without them. So how have the TEApublican efforts to woo Latino voters gone? “Hilariously badly,” is the way Rachel Maddow aptly described it.
On her show Friday night, Maddow detailed the various failures of the TEapublican Party’s best efforts to re-introduce themselves to a huge voting bloc that–let’s face it–pretty much hates them. Such efforts include Rand Paul’s face-palm-worthy maneuver in front of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce where he asked “Is it racist to like a certain race?” Maddow also discussed Alaska TEApublican racist Don Young who reminisced about his father’s ranch on which he said they used to hire “50 or 60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes.”
As hard as it is for anyone with a functioning brain to believe, we’re pretty sure this is the best they can do, ladies and gentlemen!
