Those of us who didn’t graduate from the Ayn Rand School of Christian Economics and Ethics often get accused of being haters…mostly by those who did. And for sure, no political persuasion or set of beliefs guarantees immunity from blind, illogical hatred. Appreciation for reason doesn’t necessarily grant it. Still, though, blindness in hatred and loyalty both are more signature traits of the right; and considering that people tend to judge others based on what they’d do or think, maybe we shouldn’t be too quick to take offense when they assume we operate on the same logical blindness that they do.
In school, many of us took critical thinking, analytical thinking or debate courses. And those of us who did probably recall that exercise where we have to find something sincerely good to say about our opponent, or his position. It’s good for developing objective reasoning skills. Skills that Rachel Maddow has proven time and again she possesses in spades.
So, bearing that all in mind, we now bring you something (at least ostensibly) stunning — Rachel Maddow, MSNBC anchor and liberal hero, saying something truly nice about Fox. According to Rachael, Fox is a sincerely beautiful classic, worthy of protection, adoration even, and should be seen and enjoyed at every possible opportunity. And she really means it. So, enjoy, conservative friends and local trolls…as Rachel Maddow says something legitimately nice about Fox. It’s the rational thing to do.
