Nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and actor John Legend had some words for Israel and its reprehensible treatment of Secretary of State John Kerry.

John Podhoretz, a former Reagan speech writer, New York Post columnist, contributing editor to the Weekly Standard, and editor of conservative magazine Commentary, responded that the black guy should “shut up and play the piano.” The tweet was widely criticized by folks who felt that Podhoretz was playing into stereotypes about African American entertainers.
Podhoretz did not apologize or even address the backlash to his remarks.
Instead, he deleted his Twitter account.
