A recent poll conducted by Talk Business-Hendrix College shows that people in Arkansas actually like Obamacare…as long as it’s not called Obamacare.
According to the poll, 48 percent of Arkansas residents support Medicaid expansion when listed as the “private option” for the poor in their state, while 32 percent oppose it, as long as the word”Obamacare” is never mentioned.
However– the mere mention of Obamacare causes the support to drastically drop down to 35 percent while 39 percent oppose the healthcare expansion altogether. And when asked if they had a positive or negative opinion on Obamacare, a startling 62 percent don’t like it at all, while only 27 percent support it.
But don’t you worry! At least they have good reasons that are only slightly racist. A recent sign outside a Smokin’ Joe’s Ribhouse in Rogers, Arkansas reads, “Obamacare – America’s punishment for slavery years.”
Because that makes a lot of sense, really. Obama is punishing America for slavery with affordable life-saving healthcare for children, families, veterans, and the working poor. What a terribly unfair punishment!
