Phil Robertson has officially endorsed Zach Dasher for Congress. In a small series of short ads, Robertson explains that Dasher, who blamed the Sandy Hook massacre on Richard Dawkins, is a good, God-fearing, Bible-believing, gun-toting, family-loving (in more than one way, we’re sure), super-good guy.
“Hey Louisiana,” Robertson says in one ad. “Bibles and guns brought us here, and Bibles and guns will keep us here. Zach Dasher believes in both, that’s why I’m voting for him.”
In another, Robertson explains that Dasher “loves his family,” and that he has “a servant’s heart, he knows his Bible, and he’s a good man.” Oddly never mentioning Dasher is his nephew, Robertson assured voters, “We vetted him,” as he gave his nephew a thumbs-up — an odd thing to omit when one claims to have “vetted” someone.
Dasher’s opponent is another conservative “vetted” by the Robertsons, Vance McAllister — though many know him as the “Kissing Congressman.” McAllister was caught snogging a staffer in an elevator, then promptly fired the staffer when their rendezvouses were discovered.
