In some good news, animals that were separated from their owners during the devastating Sandy superstorm are being brought back together. The ASPCA reacted quickly after Sandy, setting up a temporary shelter almost immediately to handle the 16,000 animals that were either lost or just couldn’t be properly cared for in the wake of the storm. They have an important message for people whose animals are at the shelter: Animals need to be claimed by their owners as soon as possible because the shelter is closing. There are around 130 pets waiting to be picked up. If you know anyone who is missing a pet after Sandy, please pass this message along right away.
