House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Monday told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes that Boehner would be called the “weakest Speaker in history” if he were a woman.
“You know what, if a woman were speaker and nothing was happening in this way, they’d say, ‘Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh,’” Pelosi said. “I’m just getting a little, shall we say, tired of some of the ways they take a pass on some and not on others. We get criticized for accomplishing things. They don’t get criticized for not accomplishing things.”
“If he were a woman, they’d be calling him the weakest speaker in history.”
Hayes asked Rep. Pelosi to explain what she meant, Pelosi pointed out,
“Well, because they don’t get anything done. Where are the results? What are the results? They’ve never been able to pass anything without our coming to the rescue except their very nasty — in my view — unprincipled budgets.”
