For some reason Sarah Palin is still relevant in the news. While on tour to promote her new book ‘Good Tidings, Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas’ in hopes to capitalize on “true American Christmas values,” she stopped by the Today Show for an interview with host Matt Lauer on issues such as Obamacare, her unhealthy obsession with former President Reagan, her lack of faith in the current GOP, and what Republicans need to do to win votes.
Within 5 minutes, Palin confirmed that she is still loony tunes by defending the actions of tea party members of Congress, predicting that a moderate GOP presidential nominee such as Chris Christie would not succeed in the 2016 election.
Jumping right into discussion, Lauer asked “What are we hearing from the Tea Party in terms of an absolute realistic plan that could be an alternative to Obamacare.”
“The plan is to allow those things that had been proposed over many years to reform a healthcare system in America that certainly does need more help so that there’s more competition, there’s less tort reform threat, there’s less trajectory of the cost increases,’’ Palin said. “Those plans have been proposed over and over again, and what thwarts those plans is the far left. It’s President Obama and his supporters who will not allow the Republicans to usher in free market, patient-centered, doctor-patient-relationship leaps to reform healthcare.”
When asked about Governor Chris Christie’s win in NJ, Palin said:
“I would never put my faith and hope in any one individual politician, not any of them. There is no Ronald Reagan on the scene today. If he were on the scene, that’s who I would put my faith in.” Palin continued “New Jersey, a blue state, has a Republican governor. Right on; it beats the alternative.”
“If you look at the result of the election, isn’t the message to the tea party that the middle ground, not the far right, is the most fertile ground for upcoming elections?” Lauer asked.
Refusing to surrender to any kind of moderate comment, Palin went on to say
“When you stand in the middle of the road, you’re gonna get hit on both sides of the road. We need to take a stand and support those just fulfilling their campaign promises.”
Sarah Palin never ceases to amaze me. She has proved time and time again that she has failed and will continue to fail to put the country before her politics. It also proves that any political party that adores a person this stupid really speaks a lot about the members of that party. I’d say it’s hilarious to sit and watch her interviews, but unfortunately, it’s now just scary.
