This Thursday night, Bill O’Reilly was forced to correct statements he made claiming that no Republicans were invited to the 2013 commemoration of the March on Washington.
Responding to multiple reports stating the contrary yesterday and today, O’Reilly apologized for erroneously stating that conservatives were deliberately kept off the invite list. He admitted that it was a mistake for Republicans to skip the event, and went on to take full responsibility for the misstatements, saying that he simply “assumed” that GOP-ers weren’t invited.
It turns and GOP politicians such as Eric Cantor, John Boehner, John McCain and others were invited to the event but chose not to attend.
O’Reilly ended the segment with his tip of the day: “Always check out the facts before you make a definitive statement, and when you make a mistake, admit it.”
