If you thought that the sole purpose of Open Carry was forcing people to reconsider the entire idea of a second amendment, let me quickly disabuse you of that. The group “Rally Against Clay Jenkins” is planning an anti-child refugee protest for Saturday in Dallas, and many members of the Open Carry community will be in attendance.
Intimidating their fellow citizens wasn’t enough; now they’re intimidating refugees, too!
The purpose of the group, “Rally Against Clay Jenkins,” is to protest a Dallas County judge that dared to propose housing for the immigrante children:
“Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins proposed housing thousands of illegal immigrants in two facilities, one in the city of Dallas and another in Grand Prairie to help the Obama administration process the nearly 60,000 illegal immigrant children who have crossed the border since October of last year. Jenkins, an enthusiastic donor and supporter of Obama and Obamacare, hosted 4 White House officials in June and actually offered to help with aiding the Invasion of the Illegals.”
Under one update, individuals offered up ideas for signs that could be carried during the protest:
Their wall also features links to that paragon of journalism, WhirledNutDaily, and a link to Infowars, which was called “EXCELLENT INFO!” by one of the members. Not precisely the words I would use, here; frankly, I think they spelled “crackpot lies” wrong, but it might just be the capslock throwing me off.
Here’s a short list of people who attending the event — and they’re a band of characters, for sure.
Mike Openshaw and Mike Thompson organized the event; Openshaw in particular has it out for the RINOS. For instance, he posted this delightfully insane meme, with the commentary “Had to put the full poster up. Does anyone ever see Harry Reid in the sunlight? Hmmm“:
Mike Thompson has this set as his profile image, because nothing says Real American like an assault rifle:
Michelle Wood is a Ron Paul supporting Open Carry activist:
Listed under her education is The Ron Paul Institute of Liberty and Constitutional Sciences, which leaves me curious — just what are “constitutional and liberty sciences?” Perhaps Andrew Napolitano can help, since they cite him as a reliable source.
Kevn Hendryx and Anna Harvell are both associated with Open Carry:
Kevn’s employment includes “admin reject” at Open Carry Texas, and his profile picture is a picture of him and the other members of the group. Likewise, Anna’s employment also includes “admin reject.”
I wonder if the Judge owns guns. Texas is an Stand Your Ground state, after all.
The rally will start in Highland Middle School’s parking lot on Saturday, because apparently, there’s no better place to find freedom.
