An OKC school resource officer caught on tape punching a student for not having a hall pass was charged with assault and battery Wednesday.
This story comes in the wake of the incident earlier this week with South Carolina cop, Ben Fields, who flipped a female student in her desk and then threw her across the room.
What exactly is happening that our schools have become a police state? This is ridiculous behavior by grown ass adults.
In this case, the student can be seen on surveillance getting a drink from a water fountain in the hallway of U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City. I know what you’re all thinking…THUG.
The student is approached by MSgt. Thomas Jaha, and after sharing words, the officer can be seen punching the student twice in the head.
The picture below depicts the events seconds after the assault. The child can be seen crouched over with his upper body turned away from the officer, as if he had just been punched.
The October 9th occurrence has gone unrecognized by the media because the only video of the incident belongs to the school.
The officer reported the incident immediately to administrators, and the student was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Once the D.A.’s office caught wind of it, charges of assault and battery were picked up against the 25-year police veteran. The OKC Police Departments Facebook post regarding the altercation, reads as follows:
“On October 9 of this year, the Oklahoma City Police Department was made aware of an incident at U.S. Grant High School involving one of our school resource officers (SRO) and a 16 year-old student. The SRO assigned to the high school, MSgt. Thomas Jaha, confronted a student who was in the hallway without a pass. At some point during the encounter the student took an aggressive stance toward MSgt. Jaha, who responded by striking the student with his hand. The incident was immediately reported by MSgt. Jaha and the student was arrested for disorderly conduct. The incident has been investigated by the Oklahoma City Police Department and the case was presented today to the Oklahoma County District Attorney, who has accepted one count of Assault & Battery against MSgt. Jaha. MSgt. Jaha, who was previously under restricted duty, has now been placed on administrative leave with pay by Chief of Police Bill Citty.”
Why is it that we have so much of this aggression from police happening all over the country?
Conservatives will say the cop had no choice, and the student is entitled and spoiled, without even so much as looking into their backgrounds.
Why do conservatives take the side of anything blue without question? How does one take the side of anything without question?
I just don’t get it.
THINK FOR YOURSELVES.
