A diner owner in Liverpool, NY is in some pretty hot water, but not only with authorities. Michael Tassone owns the American Diner, a small local restaurant known for their anti-Obama menu items, including the “Dictator Obama” special, which includes two eggs and toast. The item costs $3.59 + a $27 tax, undoubtedly ripping Obama for increasing taxes meant to feed the poor through welfare benefits. Those damn liberals.
Another menu item takes a jab at Michelle Obama’s fight for healthy school lunches. The burger, titled “The Anti-Michelle Obama Don’t Tell Me What To Eat Or Feed My Kids Burger,” was a not so vague (nor clever) bash on the First Lady’s attempts at ending childhood obesity.
As you can see at the top of image, the restaurant owner encourages prayer, but teaching children how to eat healthily is apparently reprehensible. Also on the menu is the following call to arms, “we encourage legal carry on premises.” The menu items are not Tassone’s only political expressions in his business. According to syracuse.com:
“The outside of Tassone’s restaurant is decorated with “Repeal the SAFE Act” signs, referring to the tough gun control law that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo pushed through, and “Don’t Tread on Me” and American flags. Inside, the decor includes an Uncle Sam statue, Three Stooges photos, and a “Chia Obama” box depicting Obama as a chia plant.”
Tassone has told syracuse.com in the past that he was a “target” because he told “the truth,” but there was definitely a very large skeleton in his closet when he spoke those words. On May 5th, Tassone was convicted of a 1-year deferred sentence after he pleaded guilty and paid the $23,354 restitution in full.
Let that sink in. Not only did he not financially qualify to receive aid, but he had over $23,000 in the bank at the time he admitted to his wrongdoing. It’s back to business as usual for Tassone. Below is the company message as seen on their website.
