You know, there comes a point between the time a man prays for the death of the President of the United States and when he suggests that women, who should shut up in church, are nothing but lying, whorish gossips if they take birth control, when it is fairly safe to assume a person is incapable of being any more stupid.
Unfortunately, pastor Stephen Anderson from Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona, isn’t just anyone. Recently, Anderson has been tacking an issue that would make Adolf Hitler proud: the Jews.
Lately, the pastor’s YouTube channel has been filled to the brim with dumbf*ckery and anti-Semitism. Shortly after a two-parter titled The Jews and Their Lies, Anderson began spewing his hate at God’s chosen people in a nearly-30-part series called “Israel Moments.”
In his multi-part hatefest, Anderson explains that the Bible says that Jews are all liars who, because they do not believe that Jesus was the son of god, are all going to Hell. In Part 26 of his “Israel Moments” series, he whips out the book of Titus to justify his bigotry. “For there are many vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision,” Anderson read from the Bible.
“So he’s warning about a lot of liars and deceivers and false teachers and he says ‘especially those of the circumcision,'” Anderson said. “So he’s saying ‘Especially the Jews are who to watch out for.'”
He continued reading, “whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not for filthy lucre’s sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said Cretians are always liars, evil beast, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in the faith — not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men that turn from the truth.”
“So the Bible’s warning us about these lying, deceiving false prophets, who they hated the Gentiles. They said ‘Oh, the Cretians are always liars. The Cretians are evil beasts,'” he added, “I mean, they’re just taking a whole nationality of people –the Cretians — and declaring them to be animals, declaring them to be evil beasts.”
“So who’s the racists here? This is Jews being racist against the Greek in Crete,” he said. “I mean, talk about stereotyping, or having a prejudice toward people based only on their race. That’s what the Jews were doing.”
“And that’s why Paul says unto them –unto Titus — ‘Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in faith, not giving heed to Jewish fables,” he repeated.
“So these people of the circumcision were following a lot of Jewish fables and they think that they’re better than the Cretians, and that they’re better than everyone else just because they are of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Bible tells us to rebuke them sharply,” Anderson said.
Anderson added that Jesus rebuked the Pharisees the most sharply. “Basically, that’s the Judaism of today, is the Pharisees. Okay?” he said. “Who did John the Baptist rebuke most sharply? The Pharisees,” he continued in his hateful rant.
“Modern day Judaism is the religion of the Pharisees,” Anderson said. “So why in the world do we as Christians think it is wrong to rebuke Judaism?” he asked. “Oh, man, we’d better be careful what we say about the Jews. We’d better be careful what we say about that religion. You know they are God’s chosen people,” he said sarcastically. “Why in the world would a Christian church bring in a Rabbi to speak to them?”
He complained about Christian churches “bringing in Rabbis” and “sharing the platform with Rabbis.” He once again repeated that “The Bible says these people need to be rebuked sharply. They’re the only people that God says to rebuke sharply, and yet these are the people who are least likely to be sharply rebuked in 2014.”
Anderson finds the lack of Christian hate toward Jewish people to be unacceptable. “We need to get back to the teaching of Titus 1,” he told viewers, “and understand that there are a lot of deceivers, a lot of false prophets out there — especially of the circumcision.”
