By now, the lighthearted and feel good story has made the rounds. President Obama was speaking about the Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare) flanked by folks who will benefit from this program.
One woman who is pregnant and also suffers from Type 1 Diabetes became lightheaded and started to faint. The President reached out to steady her, made a self-deprecating joke and helped her off the stage.
Before we descend into crazy town, let’s reflect for a moment that someone who is pregnant and diabetic can now get health insurance.
Well, this simple, human act could not be reported without right wing hate spinning the story their way.
Alex Jones is promoting a myriad of insane theories. There are those saying that the woman, Karmel Allison, really didn’t feel faint and faked it.
Some believe that she was drunk or on drugs. Others weighed in on Jones’ website that Allison is transgendered. She is one of Obama’s “transgendered o-bots.” (Really, what is that and do such folks faint a lot?)
Has the hatred and division in this country reached such a crescendo that when the President does what most people would instinctively do — help steady a person who is lightheaded and about to fall — some refuse to believe it?
Both of her conditions, the pregnancy and diabetes could have caused this reaction. As well as the stress, pressure and excitement of appearing on stage with the President of the United States. Not to mention the opportunity to get health coverage.
Come on right wing nut jobs. What is happening to the creativity needed to attack President Obama? Here’s some help: The woman pretended to faint while Obama was in Kenya reading the Quran and giving solace to our enemies.
Doesn’t make sense? That is not a prerequisite for Alex Jones and his followers.
Another explanation of what occurred at the press event: Allison’s blood sugar level was low.
