We’ve all heard the stories about the special bond shared by twins and many of us have known twins who are inseparable with each seeming to know at all times what the other is thinking and feeling.
The twins caught in this video posted by a French nurse Sonia Rochel who specializes in early childhood development to demonstrate a technique that she developed called, “Thalasso bain bébé” or Baby Spa showed that bond in its earliest phases after birth. She only intended to show the technique and the beneficial effects that it has but inadvertently captured a moment of closeness between the babies who had until recently shared the intimate quarters of a womb.
Her procedure is to bathe and massage the infants for 15 minutes without any soaps or gels, merely maintaining skin to skin contact in familiar surroundings, warm liquid. The procedure is designed to be a relaxing experience for both child and parent but with these two babies it also demonstrated something that is often hard to explain, that special bond between twins.
This sort of attachment has been photographed at other times, such as a pair of newborn twins in Spain who, although facing in opposite directions hold each other’s hands in pictures taken at the hospital shortly after they were born.
The video below may have been made only to demonstrate a nurturing technique but the bond it demonstrates between the infants is so touching that it completely overshadows the intended purpose for which nurse Rochel made it.
