It’s got to say something about a movement when that movement’s best hopes lie in what members of that movement call ‘kosher retards.’
That’s the situation the neo-Nazis are in, however, and in a recent post on the Daily Stormer website — a website described as “a veritable Drudge Report for Nazi sympathizers and anti-Semites” — a neo-Nazi blogger explained why Reddit, and it’s ‘Alex Jones-reading kosher retards,’ are a fertile ground for recruitment.
Nazi blogger Michael Slay noted that while Reddit has “a strong reputation for being a far-left SJW (social justice warrior) hug box and it’s frequently mentioned in the same breath as Tumblr . . . many areas of reddit are much more open to our ideas than you might think.”
So, neo-Nazis are now using “social justice warrior” as an insult. What are the odds, do you think, that they’re concerned about ethics in gaming journalism as well?
Slay continued, noting that Reddit already had communities where white supremacists gather — including “/r/WhiteRights,” “/r/GasTheKikes,” and “/r/CoonTown” — but there are some other groups that could be receptive to their startling lack of critical thinking.
“First and foremost, the #1 place on Reddit to recruit people to our side is /r/conspiracy,” he said. He continued:
Yes, I know what you’re thinking. Why bother trying to enlighten a bunch of Alex Jones-reading kosher retards who think that the ‘Illuminati lizard people’ run the world? Well, I’ll tell you why: conspiracy-minded people are the most open to considering the reality, which is that international Jewry, in fact, runs our societies.
Clearly, nobody ever informed my Jewish friends of this, since many of them are as broke as I am. I’m sure they’d be interested in collecting some sort of check or restitution from the International Banker’s Conspiracy local 430.
I’ll give this to Slay: he’s right. Conspiracy theorists are not renowned for their critical thinking, and there’s already a significant overlap between neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists. The original Nazis were archetypal conspiracy theorists, when they weren’t mystical, theosophist-esque whackaloons. I’m surprised it took them this long to figure it out.
Slay noted that the subreddit already hosts antisemitic conspiracy theories: it’s held a question-and-answer discussion with filmmaker Dennis Wise, the director of the pro-Nazi “documentary” called “Adolf Hitler: The Greatest Story Never Told.” He added that “(The subreddit) /r/conspiracy is an excellent place to bring mainstream conspiracy-minded, Alex Jones-type people over to our side. All you have to do is post content exposing Jewry for exactly what it is.”
He warned against using obvious rhetoric, though, because in public, on the Internet, is the best place to construct secret plans. Instead of using “Jews,” he suggested using “Zionists.”
He also said that neo-Nazis dominated the 4chan message boards, and that Reddit would be next:
Once we succeed at making our ideas mainstream on the Internet – thus winning over the hearts and minds of the youth – it’s game over for international Jewry. In the future – when you are living in a Judenfrei world – you can tell your grandchildren how you fought the battle against Jewry on the Internet, waking people up to the Jewish parasite using only your fingertips and your endless amount of information
That he considers “Alex Jones-types” mainstream is all you need to know about the real future of that movement.
