Move over, Ted Cruz coloring book! There’s a new piece of children’s insanity in town.
You know what the world was missing? A children’s book that teaches the children of open carry “activists” that what mommy and daddy are doing is completely normal, that’s what! That void has been filled by My Parents Open Carry, a delightful tale of 13-year-old Breanna Strong and her loving, gun-toting parents.
“If you open carry and have a difficult time explaining why to your family and friends, or if you want to learn about the open carry of a handgun, or if you’ve wondered if open carry is right for you, then this book is what you need,” the book’s web site reads.
The authors, Brian Jeffs and Nathan Nephew, say that they looked for “pro-gun” children’s books and were unable to find any. This dynamic duo of ammosexual children’s literature would not allow this to stand–so they wrote their own.
They say they hope to teach children that “self-defense is a basic natural right and that firearms provide the most efficient means for that defense,” which totally has no chance of going wrong.
The book’s description reads:
Come join 13-year-old Brenna Strong along with her mom, Bea, and her dad, Richard, as they spend a typical Saturday running errands and having fun together. What’s not so typical is that Brenna’s parents lawfully open carry handguns for self-defense. The Strongs join a growing number of families that are standing up for their 2nd Amendment rights by open carrying and bringing gun ownership out of the closet and into the mainstream.

The duo recommends the book to home school teachers as “an excellent text to use as a starting point on the discussion of the 2nd Amendment.” But if you’re looking for a bulk discount, don’t bother. “We often get requests from Tea Party Groups and home-schoolers for bulk discount orders. White Feather Press does offer discounts on bulk orders,” the site explains. Bummer.
