Bill O’Reilly has never been shy about expressing his misogynistic views openly, but he really should take a course in tact. Wednesday night on The O’Reilly Factor he had two female guests on to further discuss the topic of a woman being the President of the United States. During the course of the conversation the Sage of Levittown opined that perhaps women have a “gender deficiency” which should preclude them from holding the office of President.
His guests were Republican strategist Kate Obenshain and Fox contributor Kirsten Powers for a follow-up to his conversation on Tuesday with Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) during which Bachmann stated that she didn’t think the country was ready for a woman in the Oval Office.
He began with Powers saying, “I know you probably thought about this very much, Kirsten, there’s gotta be some downside to having a woman President, right? Something, something that may not fit with that office. Correct?”
To his shock and dismay Powers replied, “I’m gonna say no.”
Obenshain found this highly amusing, but not Bill. He was not going to give up on making these women admit that men were their superiors if it was the last thing he did.
As he tried to coax her into admitting that women just were not right for the office of President, she turned the tables on him by saying, “let me ask you this, what’s the downside of a man being President.”
Caught, he tried to be conciliatory saying, “you got three, you got three years?”
He quickly returned to the men are superior attitude saying, “look men are men and women are women and there’s a difference.”
Well, since it wasn’t going so well with the Democratic guest, Bill decided to ask the Republican woman — because she’ll know her place and give him the answers he wants, right? Not so much.
“You know, I’m having a tough time with this one too, Bill,” Obenshain said. “I think that depends on the individual, of course there’s a downside to certain individual women, you know just like there’s…”
At this point, on the losing end of the argument O’Reilly broke in trying to talk over her as he always does when he’s not winning.
The bottom line was that Bill was humiliated, at least in his misogynistic mind, by two women on his own show. He tried to get them to admit that a woman can never be a good President and they were having none of it.
