The biggest Teapublican fear about Obamacare is coming true: it’s working.
At least in those states that have actually, you know, implemented it.
Think Progress reports that thanks to the first Affordable Care Act open enrollment, 95% of Minnesota’s population is now covered. That puts Minnesota second only to Massachusetts, arguably the model for Obamacare after enacting its own state healthcare reform in 2007. The numbers represent a 40% drop in uninsured Minnesota residents.
Minnesota governor Mark Dayton (D) is quoted as saying:
[box type=”shadow”]“It really confirms the wisdom of the Affordable Care Act. People who have been knocking this the whole time really now need to look at the facts. This has been tremendously successful and it’s going to get better.”[/box]
All of this while some states are content to let their citizens suffer and die without access to healthcare in pursuit of a misguided ideology.
