Bud Konheim, CEO of luxury-fashion company Nicole Miller, was caught on TV recently being a huge elitist jerk, saying that Americans need to suck it up.
“We’ve got a country that the poverty level is wealth in 99 percent of the rest of the world,” Konheim said on CNBC’s Squawk Box this morning. “So we’re talking about ‘woe is me, woe is us, woe is this.'”
“The guy that’s making, oh my God, he’s making $35,000 a year… Why don’t we try that out in India or some countries we can’t even name. China, anyplace, the guy is wealthy,” said Konheim.
“Our 99% are the 1% in the rest of the world,” echoed CNBC host Joe Kernen. “I agree, thank you.”
Neither of these idiots seem to know what “cost of living” means. It means that if you make 35 grand a year, and your basic living expenses are three times that, then you are starving while making 35 grand a year. A luxury apartment is $200 a month in China, but these two bright shining stars from the galaxy of stupidity fail to mention that the apartment is in China. It could be $1.50 a month and that wouldn’t change that a decent apartment is about $1,200 a month in California.
God help the person working as public relations director over at Nicole Miller. He’s got a huge mess to clean up after Konheim’s runway walk of bad taste. While we’re on that; a floppy “Bozo the Clown” tie with a yellow polo shirt? Were you interviewing for a position at McDonald’s or something? Did someone say “boycott?”
Listen to the guy in the cheaply made-in-China shirt and ridiculous tie embarrass himself even further below. Then check out this article about the elitist one-percenter who thought it would be cool to release a racist picture on MLK day and call it “art.” Another of my favorite stories recently is where Walmart announced it was going to cut jobs just to boost profits — because they weren’t expected to be high enough.
