A Minnesota man claiming to be infested with government microchips and computers implanted in his body by the CIA, attempted to burn his house to the ground, later blaming the intelligence agency and President Obama for the act. Ronald Gary Bailey of Minnetonka is facing felony arson charges as well as a misdemeanor firearms charge in a case that has many readers and first responders scratching their heads.
On December 1st, firefighters arrived to Bailey’s home to find it in flames. While they attempted put out the blaze which engulfed the small home, Bailey, who suffers from a diagnosed but undisclosed mental illness, stood by asking when they thought they’d finish stating that he wanted to “start the rest of [his] house on fire.”
Upon further questioning by police while he was transported to an area hospital, Bailey is reported to have launched into tirades in which he claimed that he was the “first half human, half robot created by the government,” and that his home was bugged by government agencies including the FBI and CIA and that they and the President were to blame for the fire.
When searched by police before departing for the hospital, Bailey was found to have a pistol magazine and a number of .380 caliber rounds in his pockets. Neighbors had reported hearing shots fired prior to the initial blaze and upon a search of the home, police found a pistol and several boxes of ammunition, which Bailey is prohibited from owning as a result of his diagnosed mental instability. Records show that in 2006, Bailey was charged with evading a police officer, but the charges were dropped following a finding of insanity and his being committed to a hospital for care.
Bailey is presently awaiting court on January 14th and has had his bail set at $100,000.
