When asked about the brutal Saturday execution of two New York cops, most Republicans will blame New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for it — most, but not all. At least one Republican so far has claimed that it wasn’t the “anti-cop” rhetoric that caused the shooting but the shooter themselves.
It just so happened this one Republican is also Lindsey “Someone Bomb Somebody Else Now The Terrorists Are Gonna Get Us” Graham.
While sitting in on CBS’ Face of the Nation, Graham avoided putting the blame for the shooting on Mayor de Blasio. The topic came up when Graham was asked by Bob Schieffer about a tweet by New York Governor George Pataki, that blamed not only Mayor de Blasio but also Attorney General Eric Holder.
Graham didn’t buy it. He told Schieffer that “I blame the shooter and nobody else.”
It didn’t last, though.
When Schieffer asked him if he thought the shooting was linked to the death of Eric Garner, Graham took the opportunity to tone troll some of the people calling out for an end to police brutality:
I think the mayor of New York has probably undercut his cops, and the attorney general is trying to walk a fine line. What happened in Missouri, I understand why the cop had to defend himself. When you see the video in New York – did that man really have to die? But the tone they’re setting around the rhetoric regarding the cops incites crazy people, but I blame the shooter.
