Unable to resist beating the dead horse that is the numerous Benghazi conspiracy theories conservatives have pushed since September 11, 2012, Lindsey Graham decried the results of the multi-million dollar conservative-led sham investigation into the attack. Attempts have been made to blame Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and everyone else conservatives could loosely link to the assault. We’ve heard Barack Obama planned it, Hillary Clinton let it happen, it was a cover-up for a gun-running scheme to Islamic extremists, and any number of other ridiculous assertions from the Right.
The GOP-led investigation ultimately exonerated the purported perpetrators of this alleged conspiracy to (fill in the blank). The report found that the CIA security team “adequately defended” the compound despite lackluster security, and that the Obama administration was not responsible for what happened. There was no intelligence failure. There was no evidence that any officer was forced to sign a nondisclosure agreement or kept from speaking to Congress. Nothing.
To Lindsey Graham, however, the results of the investigation are complete and utter bullsh*t.
“I think the report is full of crap,” Graham said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Graham said the report, which exonerates the Obama administration, does not exonerate anyone because the House Intelligence panel is “doing a lousy job policing their own.”
Senator Graham wasn’t quite sure why he chose to dismiss the report’s findings, but speculated that the information in the report was provided by people in the intelligence community who have previously, according to graham, lied to Congress.
“I don’t believe the report is accurate given the role Mike Morell played in misleading the Congress on two occasions,” Graham said.
When host Gloria Borger pointed out the report found that no one lied, Graham relied, “That’s a bunch of garbage.”
