On Tuesday, right-wing rocket scientist Laura Ingraham let her bigotry hang out on Fox and Friends. According to the conservative radio host, there has been unrest since unarmed teenager Michael Brown was shot by police because “thugs are thugs.”
After Monday night’s clash between police and protesters that left numerous people injured, Doocy asked Ingraham why “somebody would through a gas bomb at a cop.” Ingraham said that Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Rob Johnson was in error in attempting to “engage with the community,” and “show them we care.”
“I understand that impulse, I really do,” she said. “But we know now that thugs are thugs. People who are going to take advantage of the situation are going to do that, especially if they know that the media is all there.
Ingraham said that “Tea Party activists” had not “rioted” over the alleged targeting of IRS groups in the same manner that a community rose up in support of an unarmed African-American teenager–because they’re totally the same thing.
She explained that it is a travesty that Attorney General Eric Holder plans to visit Ferguson, but has not visited the border.
“And I think a lot of people who are hard-working people from all over the world who live here legally are getting a little tired of being told implicitly or explicitly because they exist that they’re racist,” she said. “People are getting really tired of this. It’s tough out there for everybody in the middle class and the working poor.”
“Hashtag Ferguson federalized,” Doocy joked.
Ingraham has previously railed against President Obama’s call for “justice” and “healing” in Ferguson, and explained that the crowd at Bundy Ranch were “freedom fighters” because they pointed weapons at federal agents.
