In case you missed it, Larry Wilmore addressed President Obama’s emotional speech on his executive orders on gun control. Before hitting the subject, he pointed out that within the first week of January there have already been 170 deaths by guns in America.
Wilmore outlined the executive actions:
1. Require nearly all gun sellers to conduct background checks.
2. Hire new FBI and ATF agents.
3. Direct 500 million dollars to mental health care.
4. Push for “smart gun” technology.
Sadly, this hasn’t been the primary focus in coverage from Faux News.
Obama became emotional during his speech when he began talking about Sandy Hook. Wiping tears away, he stated:
First graders in Newtown, everytime I think about those kids it gets me mad. And by the way, it happens on the streets of Chicago every day.”
Apparently, crying over dead children is something we criticize people for in America. Go America.
He then got serious about Faux News’ response to the emotional moment. The entertainers (because that’s what they are) responded with statements like this:
It just didn’t seem horribly authentic.”
I would check that podium for like a raw onion… It’s not really believable.”
