Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) denounced the Affordable Heath Care Act Wednesday night in an interview on Fox’s “On The Record With Greta Van Susteren.” calling it a “catastrophic failure.”
“This is beyond fixing. It needs to be pulled out root and branch and we need to start over. It’s been a catastrophe for health care and for the economy at large,” McConnell added.
In stark contrast to McConnell’s statements, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear (D) told reporters on Capital Hill Thursday that the law is working and since it’s launch on October 1st, over 500,000 people have visited the state’s Obamacare enrollment website and 69,000 have signed up.
“I have a U.S. senator who keeps saying Kentuckians don’t want this. Well, the facts don’t prove that out. There is a tremendous pent-up demand in Kentucky for affordable health care.” Beshear said. “People are hungry for it.”
