Anyone who has actually looked into the Affordable Care Act or, as it is more commonly known, Obamacare, knows that most of the “information” flying around concerning it is wildly inaccurate and that many who are opposed to it have based their opinion on the fact that others have told them it is going to be a hot mess.
Another thing that we all know is that there are a lot of people who will say that they think that the different components are good ideas, often saying that if that were in Obamacare they would feel more favorably toward it. Many of these same people think that the ACA and Obamacare are two separate entities and now Jimmy Kimmel has proved it.
He sent a camera crew out to interview random people on the street about the two and the responses were predictable. We have no way of knowing how many of these interviews were edited out but they are nonetheless representative based on recent polling and everyone who was shown on camera thought that the two were different and the preference was exactly as one would expect, they were unanimous in the assessment that the ACA was superior to Obamacare.
Perhaps the most stunningly ironic moment was when one woman who was adamantly opposed to Obamacare and very much more inclined to accept the ACA told the interviewer that she felt that an informed citizenry is important to a Democracy.
