Rush Limbaugh reasserted his position as king of tactless jackasses when he implied Wednesday that the media coverage of the MH-17 tragedy was just a distraction from events at our southern border. While Rush hasn’t yet managed to blame Obama directly for the tragedy, he did discuss what to him is an “eerie” coincidence of a plane crashing on the other side of the world and our country struggling with a long-term immigration problem.
A Malaysian passenger plane was shot down over Ukraine Wednesday, killing all 298 people on board including three infants. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack though there has been plenty of finger pointing between Russia, Ukraine, and the Ukrainian separatists. Rush however seems to be pointing his finger at the Obama Administration.
“I don’t want to appear to be callous here, folks, but you talk about an opportunity to abandon the bad Obama news at the border, and no, I’m not suggesting anything other than how the media operates. Anyway, it’s eerie. It’s really eerie. A Malaysian air–it was on it’s way to Kuala Lumpur. Why would it be shot down?”
Though he insists he’s not implying anything, Rush talks about the whole event like it’s a conspiracy. 300 people lost their lives because one of the three groups fighting over Ukraine had an itchy trigger finger and Rush has the gall to claim the whole invent is some sort of plot to take attention away from the immigration crisis. A crisis which, by the way, is not “bad Obama news” but actually the fault of Republicans refusing to act.
