Fresh from the “You’re kidding, right?” files: Everyone’s favorite Harley riding, hog castrating, Michelle Bachmann substitute (substituting her for Michelle Bachmann is looking less like substituting aspartame for sugar and more like substituting cocaine, instead), Joni Ernst (R-Right Field), will be responsible for delivering the GOP’s State of the Union Address next Tuesday.
Talking Points Memo reports that Ernst was tapped by the Republicans at the GOP congressional retreat in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Majority Leader McConnell (R-Galapagos) made the announcement, accompanied by Ernst and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH).
Ernst said that she was “truly humbled and honored” that she’d been picked:
I am truly humbled and honored to have this opportunity to deliver the Republican address. And it is a long way from Red Oak to Washington D.C.. I never, never imagined that I would have this opportunity.
And when she goes full Deliverance, they can have Boehner playing the banjo.
