In open carry circles, they call him the “Fred Phelps of the Second Amendment.” CJ Grisham of Open Carry Texas hates him, and gunslingers everywhere implore him to “stop helping us!” Yes, Kory Watkins of Open Carry Tarrant County (not affiliated with OCT) has been such a figurehead of idiocy in the Open Carry movement that many in the movement itself believe him to be a liberal plant on Bloomberg’s payroll — a false flag operative whose mission is to make open carry people look like lunatics. We’ve got an alternative theory; but first, we’ll provide the evidence for that one.
A few weeks ago, Watkins made news when during an open carry rally, he burst into the offices of several state lawmakers and started throwing around threats and accusations of “treason” against officials. Caught on video, Watkins’ stormtrooper tactics against those who opposed “Constitutional Carry” without license or restriction single-handedly resulted in said lawmakers passing a new law. Not for the right to open carry handguns…rather for their right to throw people out of their offices. The scene was reported as a possible “major setback” for the open carry movement.
Score (1) for Liberal Operative Watkins.
Yesterday, the Operative followed that with a new video posted to his Facebook page. This time, a rant calling for the death of “treasonous” lawmakers who voted against full, unregulated “constitutional carry” of firearms. Evidently, Watkins didn’t appreciate being handed the “low-hanging fruit” of licensed carry, which in itself would be a major victory for the Open Carry movement. Still far removed from the “do whatever you want” laws Operative Watkins espouses, it would at least allow those who are licensed to do so to openly gun sling like proper Texans. In every way, it’s about an 80-10 compromise in favor of the Open Carry movement.
But Kory’s willing to kill those traitors for depriving him that last 20 percent. He came about a millimeter away from openly threatening lawmakers in this video, which he quickly deleted from his Facebook page — probably after someone pointed out that he’d probably end up in handcuffs soon over it. But the internet never forgets, and the Liberal Operative’s iPhone-filmed threat has survived unto YouTube.
“I don’t think they want to mess with us too much longer. They better start giving us our rights, or this peaceful, non-cooperation stuff is going to be, uhh, gamed up. We’re going to step it up a notch.
“I want to put more than my foot in that door,” referring to the events of a couple of weeks ago. “We should be doing way more than that. We should be demanding these people give us our rights back, or it’s punishable by DEATH. Treason. You understand how serious this is, Texas? This is treason against the American people. You don’t sell my rights back to me — you’re going to find trouble.”
Find all the fault in the Liberal Operative’s “logic” you like, there’s no doubt he at least said something that was indisputably true: “…or it’s punishable by DEATH. Treason.” Well, you would be right there, Kory. Murdering elected officials might actually be considered an act of treason. Thanks, Syntax!
So, is Kory Watkins a secret liberal operative on Bloomberg’s payroll, whose mission is to end all private firearms ownership? Well, if he is, Bloomberg ought to pay more. Last year Kory started up a donation site so he could run as the Republican House representative from Texas District 6. The “Constitutional conservative” promised to undo Obamacare, “represent WE the people,” and “end the Fed.” However you do that. Unfortunately though, those big Bloomberg dollars didn’t translate into big donations, because his donation site made zero dollars, got zero Likes, and his own page TexansforKoryWatkins.com has gone back to the GoDaddy registry from whence it came.
Looks like there weren’t many Texans for Kory Watkins. Or liberal billionaires, either. Nope, we think the Texas Open Carry folk just have to claim him as one of their own, and a prime example of the reasons why the very laws they’re lobbying for may be a very, very bad idea. Especially in light of our own theory on Watkins.
Evidence: Watch the video again. Closely.
Rambling, nonsensical speech. Paranoid delusions of grandeur and increased aggression. Narrowed eyes and light sensitivity. Regular lip smacking, and deep sniffling. Speech slurring on certain syllables, indicating a numbness of the mouth and tongue. Irregular breathing, and periodic sudden intake of breath. Our conclusion:
Lots, and lots, and lots of sweet cocaine, fresh over the border from Mexico.
