In a move sure to make right-wing heads explode like vibrant, rainbow-filled pinatas, Hallmark is honoring children who have two fathers with a special Father’s Day eCard created by transgender artist Kylie Summer Wu.
The art work, called “I’ll Take Two,” shows a young girl shopping for Father’s Day gifts. She selects two of each gift, the card then introducing her two fathers, and ending with a family group hug. The card reads “The greatest dad in the world. I’ve got two!!”
The eCard was released with four other “Love Is. . .” designs to honor LGBT Pride Month. The eCard can be viewed here.
Hallmark raised some eyebrows during the 2013 holiday season with their “Holiday Sweater” ornament. The ornament, which displayed the line, “Don we now our fun apparel,” stirred controversy for changing the traditional lyrics of the song, “Don we now our gay apparel.” The company issued an apology, stating that they never intended to offend or make political statements with their products.
