In Stamford, Connecticut a gun show went on as scheduled despite outrage by the community. Four other gun shows in the area have been cancelled recently in the wake of the horrific tragedy that claimed the lives of 20 first graders and six staff members in Newtown, just 40 miles away. Although these dealers were only selling antique guns for collectors and no assault weapons were featured at the event, the mayor of Stamford called the timing and location of the show, “insensitive.” We found it particularly chilling when one of the gun peddlers says, “I have to make a living. Life goes on.”
Was it right to proceed with this event so close to the location of the very recent mass shooting? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
