FRESNO, CA: Of all the many problems with America’s gun obsession, one of the biggest — although least reported — has to be the sheer number of guns stolen each and every year. Currently, there are something like 300 million guns in the United States; the DOJ estimates that every year, a staggering 400,000 of those are stolen. And considering where stolen guns like those in certain pillow cases go, there’s a good chance that eventually, the majority of those will represent a body.
The ATF is currently assisting in an investigation into a gun shop robbery in Fresno. The robbery of Fresno Firearms happened almost immediately after the shop’s proprietor opened for business on December 4th. The 65-year-old female owner and one early-bird customer were the only ones present when two Guy Fawkes masked men rushed into the store.
As you can see from the security camera footage, being surrounded by guns apparently didn’t help the owner very much. Like scores of thousands of others every year, the owner had no choice but to simply throw up her hands in surrender as the armed thugs took over the store.
Once in control, they proceeded to load approximately 13 handguns worth somewhere in the vicinity of $10,000 retail. After loading up, the two bolted out the door, where one of them happened to run head-first into someone walking in, shoving him to the ground as he ran out.
The unfortunate visitor was the 85-year-old owner of the shoe shop next door, George “Georgio” Sheklian. Georgio came by every morning to bring the gun shop owner a cup of coffee. While the shove may not have injured a younger man, the impact with the ground was enough to put the shoe shop owner in the hospital with injuries severe enough to require surgery — likely to a broken hip, or something of the sort. At the time of this report, he was in critical but stable condition recovering from surgery.
The two men were seen leaving the robbery in a “late-model white Cadillac,” and have yet to be apprehended by police.
Unbelievably, this is actually the second robbery to this gun shop in the last week. On November 29th, another man entered the store in the late morning pretending to be a customer. He asked the gun shop owner to show him a gun. When she handed it to him, the man bolted out the door and disappeared with the firearm. Police haven’t yet identified him either; questions remain as to whether or not last week’s theft was related to Thursday’s armed robbery.
It also isn’t known right now whether the robberies were related to the protests going on on nearby Blackstone Avenue. The Ferguson-inspired anti-police-brutality protests have been a bit more…outspoken than some others. Some protesters have wrapped traffic lights with black plastic, and in one case someone spray-painted a sign that said “hang killer cops.”
Anonymous (known for its trademark Guy Fawkes masks) does have a presence at the Fresno rallies, though there’s no direct implication that any member of anonymous was involved apart from the use of the masks. They have gotten pretty common around Fresno these days.
But, for the sake of our usual trolls: Yes, it was definitely a pair of far-left liberal terrorists.
For everyone else: An old man injured, a gun shop owner who can’t protect her merchandise, and 13 more killing tools floating around on the streets somewhere. But, oh well…just add them to the other 399, 987 stolen this year. Because nothing bad can come of that.
