Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX) is the second wealthiest member of Congress with an estimated net worth of $114 million yet he took to the floor of the House last week to bemoan the fact that he lost his health insurance and that his new policy is going to cost more. He says he doesn’t know how he is going to do it.
Of course he conveniently omits the fact that it was the Republicans who insisted that Congressmen and their staff be taken off of the government employees insurance that they previously had and thrown into the individual market. He also omits the fact that the government will provide assistance to purchase that insurance, up to 75% of the cost.
He said, “I want to tell you about my personal experience with the D.C. exchange. The president said you could keep your care plan, that your premiums will go down. Mr. Speaker, I lost my health care plan. I have five kids. My premiums have gone up significantly, and I don’t know if I can keep all the same doctors that I had to treat my kids.”
These hardliners will never admit that there is anything good about Obamacare even if after full implementation 99% of the population is pleased with it. They will stubbornly insist that it is broken and will never work even if it is working perfectly, it is a matter of pride to these people who all seem to be the type who will admit that they made a mistake once, and that was the time when they thought they were wrong and they were really right.
Watch his pathetic remarks below.
