Gia Arnold, 24, is a mother of three who has been working at JG Tree Service, a lawn and tree care business in Holley, New York — a small town just west of Rochester in Orleans county. Arnold, apparently feeling she had the necessary qualifications, made her first plunge into the political arena with a run for the New York state Senate in the 62nd district. Did we mention she’s also a licensed cosmetologist?
She had planned to primary the incumbent, George Maziarz, a Republican of North Tonawanda, because he was too liberal and too corrupt until he announced that he was retiring from the Senate and would not be seeking reelection after 19 years in the seat.
Arnold has been endorsed by the Orleans County Conservative Party in her bid for the nomination against North Tonawanda Mayor Rob Ortt who has the endorsement of the state Republican Party and identifies herself as a “Libertarian, Republican Tea Party, Conservative” on her campaign Facebook page.
On Wednesday the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported that she had announced in an email that she would be suspending her campaign and subsequently spoke to them via telephone:

In her news release, Arnold apologized to her supporters and said her personal decisions “ultimately resulted in the necessity of my stepping down from the campaign.[/box]
On her Facebook page, Arnold sounded more like she was attempting to excuse her behavior:
Arnold has left her husband and moved to Lockport to live with her new paramour who we can only hope is familiar with the old caveat “if she cheated on him with you she will cheat on you with another.”
Oh, and she also likes to pose in a lot of pictures…sometimes a gun…in a dress. We’re so sorry New York missed out on this obviously huge political talent.
