Fundamentalist “Christian” conservative lunatic Bryan Fischer has had a fantastic revelation about Rick Perry’s indictment. Apparently, Rosemary Lehmberg is a lesbian. The horror. But, worse than that, she’s the lesbian who indicted Rick Perry for abuse of power. No, seriously! He did say that. He took to Twitter on August 15 to whine and cry about the horrible lesbian that has it in for Texas’ great and wonderful governor.
“Abuse of power?” Because she’s a lesbian? (That’s true according to Dallas Voice.) What does that have to do with anything? The hilarious thing about it is that Lehmberg actually has nothing whatsoever to do with the indictment. The special prosecutor that did indict Perry is none other than Michael McCrum. A man. Men can’t be lesbians, can they? No, really, they can’t.
Besides that, Lehmberg and the Travis County attorney’s office recused themselves from the case, according to the Texas Tribune. Which means they won’t even be involved in the prosecution. That article also notes that McCrum has bi-partisan credentials, so it’s really hard to call this a partisan witch hunt.
Alas, none of that matters to Fischer (facts? What facts?). The RWNJ went on to cry that Lehmberg deserved to have her budget cut, because she blew three times the legal limit on a Breathalyzer.
Except…Perry threatened to cut her budget if she didn’t resign, and then he followed through on that threat. She’s a Democrat, in charge of an office with statewide jurisdiction, but elected by a single county. The line-item veto is legal in Texas. Trying to force someone out of their office, and then eliminating all of a unit’s funding because that person won’t go, is not.
This isn’t about the line-item veto that Perry used, though. It’s about why he used it. But, again, facts appear to be these ethereal, incomprehensible things to Fischer as he further whines about how she got Perry indicted. He’s taken some solace in the idea that a grand jury will evidently indict anything, though.
This is clearly nothing more than revenge from Texas’s left wing, as Fischer finally says. But…revenge for…what, exactly?
Lehmberg still isn’t the one who indicted Perry. And McCrum is not one to play politics, according to a Texas Tribune profile of him. Why Bryan Fischer is trying to create such an outrageous fiction is really beyond comprehension, except that, well, he’s Bryan Fischer.
And as everyone with more than three working brain cells knows, Bryan Fischer is a lying sensationalist.
