On Saturday, FOX News’ Cashin’ In became immensely bigoted, even by the “news” station’s standards. Host Eric Bolling asked a brave, new question we have certainly never heard on FOX New before: “Isn’t it time to profile” Muslims?
“We know how to find the terrorists among us,” Bolling said. “Profile, profile, profile.”
Guest Wayne Rogers compared profiling an entire religious group to “looking for a white male” in an attempt to cause the awful suggestion to seem less horrible.
Bolling asked Jonathan Hoenig if we would be “trampling on the Constitution” by profiling Muslims. If you guessed that the answer is “no,” you’re correct.
“We should have been profiling on September 12, 2001,” Hoenig said, before citing one of the most shameful acts our country has committed as evidence that this is in some way a good idea, “The last war this country won, we put Japanese Americans in internment camps; we dropped nuclear bombs on residential city centers. So, yes, profiling would be at least a good start.”
He added, “But it’s only a start,” before suggesting that the White House no longer acknowledge Islamic culture, and that Guantanamo detainees be denied religious freedom.
The entire segment was just awful, with Bolling and guests repeatedly gabsturbating at the thought of treating Muslims like the animals right-wingers consider them to be.
