Fox News bots Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Brian Kilmeade are outraged — OUTRAGED — that the world champion Baltimore Ravens were paid to promote the Affordable Care Act.
And, of course, they made both untrue and nonsensical pronouncements while being outraged.
The Ravens team did accept $160,000 to market the program to Marylanders through the state-specific website Maryland Health Connection.
Just like smart corporations, the Obama administration is using very popular athletes to promote their product.
Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. Congress refused to increase funding for the website launch and rollout and the GOP is still, and will continue, to snark, criticize and say the sky is falling.
Pull a smart move, and anger will erupt from the right.
Kilmeade believes the team caved from pressure from both the White House and the Maryland Governor. Kilmeade, pretend-speaking on behalf of the Ravens states:
“We’ll take the $130,000 check to help you, Mr. President, the White House, sell Obamacare to the fans of football.”
However, no less than The Wall Street Journal reported the Baltimore team also promoted Medicare Expansion in 2008.
So there is clearly a precedent.
This is just another attack on Obamacare.
Because who doesn’t love the Ravens, except maybe Steelers fans.
Watch the gibberish here.
