There are so many things that are wrong with the conversation in this video that it’s hard to even know where to begin. Let’s start with the main issue — Fox News’ The Five took pleasure in bashing liberal politicians, pundits, and celebrities who called out the Tea Party as a racist group. Everyone from Alan Grayson, who claimed the tea party is as popular as the KKK, to actor Chris North stating the tea party is “racist” and “un-American.” Host Greg Gutfeld was so infuriated with Chris Matthews for his notion that the Tea Party believes blacks are three-fifths of a person, calling him a “gasbag” and a “drunk.”
Gutfeld then proceeded to say,
“These tools overcompensate; it’s why perverts commence charities for kids.”
When co-host Bob Beckel attempted to show signs of human compassion and defend Matthews for being sober, Gutfeld stuck by his word, stating “Why can’t I be low? If he’s calling my beliefs racist, I don’t care if he used to drink. I’m going to call him a drunk. Because the fact is…do you know what’s worse than being called a drunk? Being called a racist when you’re not a racist.” He continued “So, if he wants to call people a racist, then I’m going to call him a drunk. I don’t care if he drinks or doesn’t drink. It doesn’t matter to me.”
If you’ve ever had the patience to sit down and actually watch The Five, then you probably know that Gutfeld usually bases his stories around logical fallacies. Despite Chris Matthews being sober, Gutfeld’s despicable attacks really say more about his personal integrity than any logical person could write in an entire article.
