It would be nice if one — just one — day would go by without someone on Fox News saying something reprehensible. Unfortunately, the counter for “Days Without a Fox Host Saying Something Awful” counter has been perpetually stuck at double-zeros since October 7, 1996.
On thursday, Andrea Tantaros said that a supermodel who spoke out against gun violence should keep her mouth shut because her job is looking pretty. In response to a tweet from Chrissy Teigen that summed up the gun violence situation in America that referenced the shooting in Canada’s Parliament.
“Active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in America, Wednesday,” Teigen tweeted. “That’s not a joke. It is a fact.”
On Outnumbered, Fox News hosts criticized Teigen’s need to talk about gun violence and safety measures directly following a shooting.
“I do a segment every week on The Five called ‘Fool of the Week’ at the end of the week,” Eric Bolling said. “I take the most foolish comment either said or tweeted…I would say she’s a prime candidate.”
“Chrissy Teigen is known for, obviously, her lovely bottom, and her food Instagram pictures. She should stick to that,” said host Andrea Tantaros. “This is the problem when models start to talk. They play into that dumb model stereotype. Because it’s too soon for her to weigh in. And also, conflate gun control, and crime in America with a global war against radical Islamic jihadism.”
“I mean. she clearly doesn’t know about the radical Islamic threat to the nation. She hasn’t educated herself,” Tantaros continued. “When she does stuff like this, you’ve just got to shake your head.”
“If she wants to weigh in on gun control and crime then let’s have a debate about the root of crime in America,” Tantaros suggested.
