Proving once again that FOX News and their hosts are nothing more than a bunch of simpleton bullies that cut and run whenever they are confronted with reality, Neil Cavuto was reduced to repeating the same lie over and over and eventually cutting off the microphone of democratic strategist Julian Epstein after he called the bigoted host out for his opportunist “Obama hate.”
Like a scared bully finally confronted by a stronger opponent, Cavuto simply could not take the onslaught by Epstein, who berated the host for his delusional anti-government paranoia and opportunist attacks on the Obama administration regarding the NSA subpoena and other manufactured and exaggerated scandals.
“You see one incident after another that comes up,” Cavuto said. “It all comes back to the same basic issue: privacy invaded or potentially invaded. Institutions of all sorts doing the same thing. There is a pattern.”
“If you want to conflate and combine the issues and make the general statements you can do that,” Epstein answered back. “I don’t think it’s a thoughtful way to approach it.”
At this point Cavuto, who had been winding-up throughout the hour, lost it.
“Think about what I said!” Cavuto screamed. “Julian! Don’t play the politics thing. I’m telling you, drop the liberal thing and focus on the reality thing. You have one entity after another going after American people. You have one system of government, one agency, one department after another essentially doing the same thing. You can call that conflating. I am telling you there is a pattern.”
“You can’t conflate all these issues,” Epstein said, causing Cavuto to shake his head in disbelief. “You have to speak about them differently. In the case of the IRS, I agree the targeting is wrong, but there was never any connection to the White House. Nobody has proven that.”
Someone off-camera scoffed and said, “This guy would make a lousy reporter.”
“I’m not going to get anywhere arguing this point,” Cavuto said. “You are saying nothing and it’s offensive. It’s annoying how obnoxious you can be on the reality.”
“You’re playing Obama-hater and not backing it up with facts,” Epstein tried to say, but Cavuto told the producers to cut his mic, at which point the show reverted to Ben Stein.
Epstein had seen this trick before, and he was quick to point out that the host was complaining and combining issues and not adding anything of substance to an otherwise important conversation that America needs to have about a compromise between security and privacy.
Whenever FOX News cuts off your microphone, it is safe to assume that you have struck a nerve and pulled out the rug from under their unethical practice of inducing anti-government paranoia on behalf of the Republican Party, of which they are a wholly-owned subsidiary.
The most incredible part is that Cavuto had the gall to accuse Epstein of “saying nothing,” although he spent the entire segment listing off each manufactured crises without delving into the intricacies and details of each one.
