DemocracyNOW interviews Frank Schaeffer, who gives us a frightening look into the insane world of evangelical Christian TEApublican-types.
Frank Schaeffer is a former conservative Evangelical Christian whose father’s writings and life’s work heavily influenced the religious development of TEApublican Michele Bachmann. Frank’s father was Francis Schaeffer, one of the nation’s most influential evangelical Christian “thinkers” of the 1970′s and 1980′s. Bachmann admitted to the New Yorker magazine that she entered politics after watching Francis Schaeffer’s film ,”How Should We Then Live,” which was directed by Frank Schaeffer.
Schaeffer says,
“[Bachmann] doesn’t just come from the far-right of evangelical politics, she comes from a fringe even of the fringe, which is the reconstructionist Dominionist movement. The religious right that I was a part of is fundamentally anti-American, they hate this country. They wrap themselves in the flag, but they hate America as it is.”

Sounds quite a lot like a liberal opinion that we here at AATTP often promote. Keep in mind, this liberal view comes from a man in with intimate knowledge of the insane right wing conservative Dominionist Christian movement. We should listen to him.
