Starting in or about the mid-1960s, two things started happening in American society. First, a social revolution that encouraged everyone to grasp for equality. Second, a global economic revolution that encouraged corporations to flee “Made in America” for cheaper labor overseas.
In the 1950s, GM was America’s biggest employer, paying the modern equivalent of $50 an hour on average; but when outsourcing collided with feminism, the very people who prided themselves on working for a living found a social movement hijacked by corporate interest who wanted everyone working — for CHEAP.
But, that’s all terribly complicated, and tut tut to every bit of it. According to Fox guests, Politichicks and authors of “What Women Really Want,” it’s much simpler than that. To wit: feminists are atheist monsters who are keeping women from being “what God designed them to be.” Indeed, according to Ann-Marie Murrell:
“They claim they’re feminists, but what they actually are, they are sexualists. It has nothing to do with empowering women anymore…We earned the right to vote, we have equality in the workplace. If we don’t, we can fight that on a one-on-one basis. But everything they’re about now is kind of about from the head down. It has nothing to do with women’s brains or their hearts.”
Well, yes — because it’s the heart of a woman that pays for her kids’ doctor visits after their father got laid off of work and thrown in prison for failure to pay child support. Host Anna Kooiman followed that with the standard “liberals are tolerant as long as you’re agreeing with them 100 percent” bit — the conservative’s way of saying “Stop ARGUING with us! You’re SUPPOSED to be a p***y!”
“Women don’t want to be objectified, and what the feminist movement has successfully done is, really, sexualized women instead of feminizing women.”
Definition of “feminizing“: “To give somebody or something characteristics considered suitable for women; to make somebody behave in ways conventionally associated with women.”
“So we’re here with a new brand of feminism, saying drop the shackles of the old feminism. It’s time for women who really want to be women, who want to be feminine, who want to be what God designed them to be.”
Indeed. Perhaps those women should look into Islam — it’s all about “absolute surrender of individual will to God.” Seems tailor-made to benefit the ladies.
“They claim that we put women back into the 50s where women stayed home and took care of their children. I say that what they’re doing, they are like cave women waiting for a caveman to bonk them on the head and drag them into the cave by the hair. That’s who they are. They’re the ones putting us back into the Stone Age.”
As opposed to the Bronze Age.
She then argued that the feminist movement had created a stigma that made women ashamed to stay home with their children. And there might be something to that — after all, here are four women, on television, writing books, running websites, making six-figure salaries working for FOX…and not a one of them home with their children right now. Oh, those insidious liberals and their stigmas! Not even The Politichicks are safe!
Or, you know…maybe they just need the money. Because GM isn’t paying $50 an hour anymore.
Somehow, though, that message didn’t make it through — but a token paean (delivered by Morgan Brittany) to the corporate conservatives who created this problem in the first place did.
“And they want less government in their lives. They want to make their own decisions, they want freedom to choose for their children, their families. That’s what women really want.”
Great…so…the Politichicks are Pro-Choice?
“And they also want real men. We love real men. We absolutely love them.”
Well, that’s the first rational thing she’s said. We assume by “real man,” she’s referring to the archetypal service providers of the 1950s. The ones who got paid enough to support them. No, sorry — that’s probably reading into the situation a bit too far. The Politichicks are all about simplification. So what’s the simple solution here?
“Stop shaving, men!”
May we simplify further with two words? “Beard” and “July.”
Indeed, these are the Politichicks with all the answers. Like Bill O’Reilly (who shaves), the problem is always a cultural one, and always comes back to a liberal plot to destroy it. And, of course, there’s little doubt at this point that feminism has been hijacked…by corporations who are more than happy to see an expanded labor force working for $0.77 on the dollar.
But, you know, let’s not get into any ridiculous discussions about the socioeconomic effects of globalized labor pooling and rampant consumerism in a traditionally wealthy market that prizes materialism and fascistic egotism above all other notions of societal or spiritual advancement.
Hell, no…Real Housewives of Orange County is on!
