Thirty-four year old Haider Darwash will certainly be ineligible for Father of the Year 2013! Florida trooper Edy Rivera noticed the awesome dad’s two month old infant son asleep and alone inside the locked family car outside an Orange County, Florida Walmart.
Trooper Rivera made an announcement in an attempt to find the owner of the car, but no one came forward. After ten minutes, he broke the window of the car and removed the child.
After a short while, Darwash returned to the vehicle. This completely responsible parent told troopers he thought his wife had the baby. His wife was found standing in line at a nearby business.
Officials say that the baby seemed lethargic, and paramedics were called. Fortunately, he was unharmed.
Darwash was booked into the Orange County Jail and is charged with felony child neglect, and the Florida Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.
Darwash was bonded out on Black Friday, and the mother has inexplicably not been charged with a crime. The child is still in the care of these two awesome people.
