The pastor of New Harmony Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is behind bars after allegations surfaced that he raped a 20 year old mentally disabled woman, who unwillingly had sex with him at her father’s request.
The victim had, according to arrest documents, “the medical documentation mental capacity of a 7-year-old.” The woman’s diminished capacity was, however, trumped by pastor David “Scott” Lemley’s need to get laid. The woman’s father, according to police, encouraged the encounter because Lemley’s wife was ill.
Lemley was also booked on one count of theft of a motor vehicle. Someone had entrusted their car with him so that he could work on it, but instead he gave it to a church member, who sold it to a scrap metal company for $250.
Pastor Lemley’s victim says that they had sex on many occasions despite her objections. In 2013, Scott Lemley denied having sex with the woman, and ” also advised that she is known for making up stories for no reason,” according to a detective.
The pastor said he would submit to a lie detector test on December 6, but did not show up.
Lemley’s Wife, Kim, claims that he was advised by the couple’s attorney not to take the polygraph. “It’s false charges,” she claims. Mrs. Lemley says that the car theft is “false charges,” as well. She says she has resolved the dispute with the person who made the complaint.
That’s a lot of false charges!
