“I WANT TO BELIEVE.” You might remember that iconic poster hanging on the office wall of one Fox Mulder. In the 1990s, the X-Files raised paranoid conspiracy theories to the level of art, and encouraged a whole generation to look for the “patterns” of “truth” behind the obvious. Most of us took it as great fiction…to others, though…the Truth is Still Out There.
The Bible Code is the result of someone looking too hard for something that isn’t there. This little mathematical trick uses a Matrix (of course) to find key phrases occurring together in the Bible. It even got its own special on the History Channel once, in between Ancient Aliens and Finding Atlantis. That The Bible Code also prominently featured Alex Jones (a guy who wouldn’t have a job if not for the X-Files) is probably no coincidence.
Nothing is a coincidence.
Of course, the fact that the Bible Code has been discredited many, many times doesn’t stop people from using it to find messages. Just as they can use the Bible Code method to find “prophecies” about the assassination of rabbis in Moby Dick. Keep looking, guys…the Truth is Out There.
Bible Code-Decoder Jonathan Wright, who bases his entire body of Biblical knowledge on 1999’s The Omega Code, recently appeared on Rick wiles Trunews.com to discuss President Antichrist. Not to ever be confused with Russell Brand’s The Trews, Trunews is kind of like (also 1990s Texas-based,) Infowars, but Jesus usually fills in for Alex Jones. And all of them have one thing in common…
They WANT TO BELIEVE.
Wright: That’s right.
Wiles: Either Barack Obama is the Man of Sin or he is strongly connected to the Man of Sin or the spirit of Antichrist.
Wright: That’s right. Those are my only — I’ve tried to look at this as an investigation not with an agenda, by the way, but what I’ve come up with those have to be the possibilities. Let’s just face it, he’s got a ring on that says, ‘There’s no God but Allah and Mohammad is his Messenger.’ Now, by definition, that’s Antichrist.”
Ah-HA! The RING OF THE ANTI-CHRIST! Except the Devil’s Ring conspiracy is, likr The Bible Code, another case of people finding graven messages where they don’t exist. But, hey…Obama could still be the Antichrist because his heavily armored, approximately four-ton limo is called “The Beast.” And a fly landed on him. Right?
…on the lawn.
