Cassaundra Rasmussen, a Crestview, Florida woman, was arrested last Thursday because police say she left her dog Waldo to die inside of her hot car — while she spent 13 hours shopping at Walmart.
Who spends 13 hours shopping at Walmart? I can’t imagine what that poor dog felt, for 13 hours.
Another Walmart shopper discovered the deceased dog. Rasmussen left neither food or water in the vehicle, and despite leaving the window partially cracked, rising temperatures eventually killed the dog.
Rasmussen, 49, was “browsing” for approximately 13 hours, and she told police that she’d forgotten the dog was inside of the vehicle. The dog’s cause of death was heat exhaustion, because of the high temperature in the vehicle.
As a result, Cassaundra was charged with one count of misdemeanor cruelty towards animals.
