White people should not feel guilty about one of the most horrifying stains on American history–slavery–according to right-wing hate radio blowhard, Rush Limbaugh. On his show Monday, Limbaugh spewed,
“This, this white guilt, it’s time for all this white guilt to end. If any race of people should not have guilt about slavery, it’s Caucasians. The white race has probably had fewer slaves and for a briefer period of time than any other in the history of the world.
Now, sadly, we’re not talking about the rest of the world when the civil rights coalition gets ginned up. They’re talking about America and slavery. And that can’t be denied; it happened. But, compared to the kind of slavery that still exists in the rest of the world and has existed, by no means was it anywhere near the worst.”
Well, golly gee Rush. Thanks for giving us permission to acknowledge that it happened! I must say though, this argument of yours that it was bad, but not that bad has got to be one of the stupidest comments to ever to come out of your perpetually bloviating face. That’s kind of like saying someone who got their arm gnawed off by piranhas doesn’t have a right to complain because someone else got both arms gnawed off by piranhas. Pretty freaking idiotic–not that we expect anything less from your thoroughly broken mind.
