A 74-year old Long Island Man has been arrested for allegedly having mailed a letter containing anti-Semitic remarks and a white powdery substance to an office building in East Garden City.
A woman in the office building opened 74-year-old Leslie Feher’s letter on June 13 and noticed a white powder on her fingers. She called police, but it was determined that the substance was not dangerous.
Feher was taken into custody in his home following a lengthy investigation by the Nassau Special Investigations Squad, the NYPD, and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority police assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force. He is expected to be charged with second-degree placing a false hazardous substance in a letter, and is scheduled to be arraigned on August 12.
