Despite having the lowest approval rating in history and being the least productive congress of all time, House Speaker John Boehner firmly believes that the House has done a fantastic job. He believes that if anyone is to blame for congressional inaction, it’s the Senate.
“The House has continued to listen to the American people and to focus on their concerns. Whether it’s the economy, whether it’s jobs, whether it’s protecting the American people from Obamacare — we’ve done our work.” He continued, “The House continues to do its job. It’s time for the Senate to get serious about doing theirs.”
More than 1,000 days have passed since John Boehner vowed that jobs would be the number one priority. So far, he has miserably failed to deliver. The sweet irony is that Boehner will most likely not even succeed in providing a job for himself. Immigration reform was also assured to be passed, but with only a few days left until Congress closes up shop for the year, it does not seem likely.
After all, this was promised by a man that recently stated:
“We should not be judged on how many new laws we create. We ought to be judged on how many laws we repeal. We’ve got more laws than the administration could ever enforce.”
